Notice of Deficiency - IRS Letter 531 / Letter 3219

Another important Internal Revenue Service letter is the Notice of Deficiency or 90-day letter. This comes in two forms, the Letter 531, if the audit of your tax return was conducted in person, and the Letter 3219, if the tax return exam was completed by mail.
